After having lunch near the Liang Seah Street area, my colleagues and I decided to go for dessert since there are 2 yummy dessert places nearby – Ah Chew’s and Ji De Chi Dessert (記得吃).
A few of us preferred the offerings at Ji De Chi so we headed there. I had a craving for hot desserts so I went for the Orh Nee, otherwise known as the yam paste dessert. It was filled with a generous serving of pumpkin and gingko nuts which made me very happy, certainly yummy to the max. My friends also ordered a cold almond paste, mango cold cake and mango with pomelo sago. To our surprise, we were served an additional soya beancurd dessert. We thought that the auntie had delivered it to the wrong table, but she told us the store was having a promotion whereby if you order above $20, they’d throw in a soya beancurd free:) What a pleasant surprise indeed! The auntie was also super friendly and helped us to snap a group picture since this was also a farewell lunch for me.
Overall, all of us took a bite out of each other’s dessert and we loved every single one of them. I am so going to order a giant portion of the mango with pomelo sago for myself the next round. I really love this simple little dessert place (although i dread the parallel parking by the road side haha). So the next time if you can’t decide where to bring your friends to go for local desserts, you can’t go wrong by bringing them to 記得吃:)
PS: Besides Liang Seah Street, the dessert stall also has outlets at Jurong Point and Plaza Singapura.
